Tech Tips: Full Screen
In this edition of Tech Tips we have a quick tip to help you see more with your web browser.
Seeing More
Most of us use our web browsers in whatever default size they appear when the first open. Occasionally we may maximize, restore, or even resize the browser window, but it is also possible to view our browsers in “full-screen” mode.
If you use one of the more recent versions of popular web browsers like Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, Firefox, Opera, etc., pressing the F11 key will cause your browser to fill the screen. With your browser in full-screen mode, you can see more of a web page without having to scroll. Pressing F11 again will toggle the browser back to its original size.
Sometimes even a small increase in the viewable area can help a lot. For example, when viewing a large map it can be especially beneficial to see more of the page without scrolling.
Try F11 next time you use your web browser and see if “full-screen” mode is a feature which can help you.
